If you're like me you get nervous when you visit certain sites, wondering if you are opening your computer up to spyware, viruses, malicious scripts, etc.
Here is a plug-in for either IE or Firefox that a friend told me about. SiteAdvisor is a quick download and gives feedback on a website's ethical behavior, showing a colored button on the tool bar: green = safe, yellow = caution, red = warning. Clicking on the button will provide more details.
